As soon as we started to speak with builders we received very warm and positive feedback. More and more local construction companies were happy to work using the Bflow principles and philosophy. So we started to think, ''Who else could benefit from our design and build method?'' and "How we can provide all those benefits directly to homeowners, and not only to builders?''

The answer was clear; it's self-builders. The most selective customers who would like to build the house of their dreams and want to do it their own way. So what can Bflow give to the self-builder? We believe there are three main benefits:

More control

How much will you be involved? Well, it's your dream and your project; we only provide the necessary details and support. And it's not just talk. For all Bflow projects we do not use a traditional type of building contract, but a Project Partnership Agreement. Basically it means that you, the designer and the builder are one team working together to maximize the value of your house. You all share the responsibility and the achievement; however you are the chief and final decision maker. All of our experience, knowledge and skills will be used to help your dream come true. It might be even fun, but it will definitely be a very exciting and rewarding time of your life – your self-building project.

Faster results

Another reason to try Bflow is you will get faster results. We are strong believers and advocates of the modern methods of construction. For example, we recommend using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) for the building's envelope. You could use traditional methods such as timber frame or brick and block, but then we are talking about months or even years of work. With SIPs it's usually just a matter of days before the internal finish can start, and the construction will be stronger than timber frame, better insulated, air-tight and draught-free with less cold bridging.

We also actively use Building Information Modelling (BIM) during the design and planning stage. The reason is not to impress you with pretty images, but to plan and organise everything before the work starts onsite. You and the builder will know exactly what and how it will be built; errors and omissions are eliminated from the very beginning.
